I started my career as a Police Officer with the New York City Housing Authority in 1982 and years later was associated with Pete Thron while he was involved in numerous hazardous assignments in one of their busiest station houses, in Harlem. I knew him to be an exceptional, courageous and dedicated crime fighter. I am grateful to know his remarkable and authentic experiences during “the crack wars” have been memorialized. They are available for anyone seeking a glimpse into one of our cities most desperate, abysmal and dangerous points in time.
